Heyyyyy "Blog Fam" or Whatever it is Called

I just wanted to apologize for my recent absence. Occasionally I get busy.

I am operating on the assumption that humanity has survived despite my pessimistic projections,  and that most of my readers are reading this in the future, so a few days hiatus should be insignificant.

Transporter and warp drive technology are fully developed, and we interact with alien civilizations peacefully in something which resembles the Federation while also being prepared to defend ourselves if they don't come correct.

That's all well good of course, but what I want to know is the following:

What percentage of mathematicians and scientists in the future are black, Latinx, and native American or did we remain on the current dismal trajectory?

Did you all listen to me or not? Please tell me that you did not wait for the academics to finally make good on all of their DEI talk and instead realized that this is up to you. No one is going to come up with a magical grant and fix things for us.

Anyway, I keep waiting for a portal to open in my living room and to have a racially heterogeneous and ambiguous "crew" of temporal travelers step out and tell me that my efforts were not in vain and I am getting tired of waiting.

Update: Since the above message should have been received instantaneously in the future, and no portal has opened up in my living room during the last 12 days, I am going to again be an optimist and just assume that things have improved for underrepresented STEM, but that time travel is simply impossible.
